PROPAGANDA AGAINST JUBILEE. CHINESE URGED NOT TO JOIN IN. By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright. Rec. 10.10 pan. Hongkong, May 1. Underground propaganda, both verbal and by pamphlet, to induce Chinese not to participate in the King’s jubilee celebrations is evident at Hongkong. Though it is difficult to trace the originators it is believed Japanese are concerned in the matter, and in this connection it is stated that Japanese street orators, disguised as Chinese, have recently been stressing the Sino-Japanese blood brotherhood. Whilst the great majority of Chinese are evincing loyalty and enthusiasm, some firms are said to be so frightened that they are disinclined to mention the King’s name in decorations.
