TASMAN JUBILEE MAIL SOUTHERN CROSS AND THE FAITH. , ' / FIRST CONTACT WITH LONDON. PLANS FOR THE RETURN FLIGHT. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Rec. 9.55 p.m. Sydney, May 1. Sir Charles Kingsford Smith announced to-day that the monoplane Faith in Australia would accompany the Southern Cross on the jubilee air mail flight across the Tasman on May 14. The intention is upon the return flight to bring New Zealand in direct air mail contact with London for the first time. Sir Charles will pilot the Southern Cross, with Mr. John Stannage as radio operator, and Captain P. G. Taylor will pilot the Faith in Australia, with Mr. S. Colvin as radio operator. The machines will fly together to New Zealand, landing at New Plymouth the morning after the take-off from. Richmond, New South Wales.
