SEWING COMMITTEE TO BEGIN. Routine business was dealt with at the monthly meeting of the district nurse committee at New Plymouth on Tuesday; Mrs. F. E. Wilson presided and there were present Mesdames D. Cameron, C. Berg, M. Shoemark, J. T. White, G. Loveridge, M. Avery (honorary secretary) and Sister M. Jackson. A grant of £2 2s from the emergency fund was made for the purchase of material for the sewing committee, which will hold its first meeting on May 8. Mrs. Shoemark was appointed convener. Sister Jackson was appointed delegate to the child welfare committee. Sister Jackson reported as follows: New patients on register 23, discharged 10, transferred to hospital 5, remaining 17; visits to homes for treatment and advice 170, inquiries 129, charitable aid recipients 20.
