JUNIORS BEAT OLD-TIMERS. <’ - - WIN ON THE FIRST INNINGS. The Brixton junior cricket team played the local old-timers during the weekend, the juniors winning on the first innings by 22 runs. Longstaff three for 14, A. Giddy two for 10. Dance in Huirangi Kali. There was an attendance of about 120 at the children’s and beginners’ dance held in the Huirangi hall on Friday evening. Mr. L. Jury was master of ceremonies and Messrs. Rowe and Watson provided excellent music. Items were given by Mrs. F. Bovett and Mr. S. Summers, and there was community singing. Euchre prizes were won by Mrs. Thatcher and Mr. K. Surrey.
