QUIET AND SLOW
DAIRY PRODUCE MARKETS. BUTTER AT 765; CHEESE AT 445. ’ The butter market is quiet and cheese slow, state London reports received by most Taranaki agents on Saturday, although Henry A. Lane and Co. report butter at 76s on a firm market with a hardening tendency and the cheese market somewhat steadier at 44s to ,445. 6d for white and 45s to 46s for coloured. Other agents, Mr.. H. M. Thomson (Anglo-Continental) and New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Co., give New Zealand butter prices. as 76s to 775, white cheese 44s to 44s 6d, and coloured cheese at 45s 6d, markets being quiet or slow. A Press Association cablegram from London says the. butter market is quiet with Danish at'9Bs, choicest salted New Zealand 765, salted Australian 71s, un-. salted New Zealand 78s to 79s and Australian 745. The cheese market is slow. New Zealand white cheese is 44s 6d, coloured 46s and Australian 41s 6d to 42s 6d.
