BIBLE CLASS CAMP

METHODIST YOUNG MEN’S EVENT. 50 GATHER AT NEW PLYMOUTH. Over 50 members of Methodist Church young men's Bible classes from all over Taranaki have gathered at New Plymouth for a four-days’ Easter camp. They are from-Awatuna, Eltham, Fitzroy Hawera, Inglewood, Kaponga, Ngatoto (Uruti), Okato, Patea, Stratford, Tarurutangi, Wharehuia and New Plymouth. , , The camp assembled on Thursday night and began its programme yesterday morning. Circle leaders hold a daily conference at 6.15 a.m. and reveille is at 6.30. Physical drill is followed by devotional exercises and breakfast. The morning programme consists of inspection, a short service and a study period. After lunch a recreational programme is arranged and after tea a lecture or concert. Yesterday the morning service was taken by the Rev. M. Blight, Inglewood, and in the afternoon the visitors were taken for a sight-seeing trip round New Plymouth. Visiters last night were Messrs. Arch Berrington and Ern Howell, secretary and treasurer of the Methodist Bible class movement, who talked to the campers before continuing their North Island tour. The Rev. J. D. Grocott also gave a talk on Kagawa, the Japanese leader. This morning Mr. C. E. Bellringer will speak and in the afternoon a launch trip has been arranged round the Sugarloaves. The camp concert will be held to-night. There is to be a church parade at Whiteley Church to-morrow morning and in the evening a camp service will be held, followed by a camp meeting. The camp will break up on Tuesday morning. The Rev. J. D. Grocott is camp captain and other officials are: Sergeantmajor, H. Kendrick; fatigues officer, C.
