CARE AND PRESERVATION. TASK OF OFFICE OF WORKS. (Biitish Official Wireless). Rec. 5.5 p.m. Rugby, April 16. The list of scheduled ancient monuments of Great Britain of which care is taken by the Office of Works on behalf of the Government, now numbers over 4000. The monuments are of all kinds—the remains of abbeys, castles, bridges, etc. They are found in all parts of the country and the Office of Works employs nearly 500 men in the continuous task of their preservation.
