The annual meeting of the Inglewood branch of the Plunket Society was he d on Saturday afternoon, when Mrs. Wanklyn presided over a large andl representative attendance. Visitors from New Plymouth included Mrs. W. u. Weston, president of the New Plymouth branch, and the Plunket nurses. A vote of sympathy was passed to the relatives of the late Mrs. H. J. M. Wells, Waitara, who was a leader of the Plunket Society in that district. _ Mrs. Weston, who took the chair during the election of officers, congratulated the branch on the enthusiastic gathering and on its strong financial position. The election of officers resulted: President, Mrs. S. Wanklyn; vice-presidents, Mesdames S. Judd and D. McAllister, secretary’and treasurer, Mrs. H. Winter; committee, Mesdames G. Atkinson, E. Crossman, F. Cameron, S. Court, W. Brown, E. Braybrooke, L; Brown, A. Baker, R. Brown, Gibbins, George, W. Moir, F. Mantey, Newlands, W. Smith, L. Torrens, L. Evans, Guilford, Wearne, C. Englands and C. Twist; advisory board, Messrs. I. P. Grant, D. McAllister and Dr. I. E. Faris; hon. auditor, Mr. J. A. Ross; delegates to New Plymouth branch, Mesdames S. Wanklyn and H. Winter. . The secretary was voted the usual honorarium. ' Nurse Cartwright read a report which showed a continued interest in Plunket methods. Each Wednesday the rooms were open morning and afternoon, thus giving the nurse more time to deal individually with each baby. The nurses still insisted on the importance of the older children being brought to be weighed and measured and placed under supervision until they were of school age. It was interesting to note the difference in constitution and the teeth of the children who did attend regularly every six months and followed the advice given. The mothers had realised the need for finance and had come to the society’s aid in the recent carnival. The Better Baby Club boxes served in themselves as a daily reminder. The balance-sheet showed a satisfactory financial position. Receipts during the year totalled £437 7s sd, including a .balance of £9B Ils 5d carried forward from last year. The year closed with £334 13s 3d, the amount of cash in the bank, the balance of assets over liabilities being £391 0s 9d-
