PIHAMA EUCHRE PARTY
HALL COMMITTEE GATHERING. A euchre party organised .by the Pihama hall committee last Thursday v as fairly well attended, though the unfavourable weather kept many . away. Mrs. Thompson won the women’s first prize and Miss Bayliss the second after a play-off with Miss Rogers. Mr. A. J. Clarke won the men’s first prize and Mr. R. Campbell won the play-off for the second prize With Mr. J. Pollock. Miss Bayliss and Mr. J. Pollock won the “lucky seat” prize. Owing to the poor attendance a meeting to have been held on Friday night to form a men’s hockey team was postponed till to-morrow. Those who did attend on Friday offered to do their best to create more interest arid to see if more players could be obtained. It was contended that there was plenty of talent in the district. Mr. and Mrs. H. F. Crofskey are spending a few days at New Plymouth. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lambie are staying with their son, Mr. J. Lambie.
