PRESENTATION OF RITUAL CUP.

SUCCESSFUL SOCIAL EVENING.

The Loyal Toko Lodge on Tuesday elected the following officers: 1.P.N.G., Sister M. Mackay; N.G., Bro. A. Gernhoefer; V.G., Sister Vickers; E.S., Sister Gernhoefer; guardian, Bro. Loving; warden, Sister Martin; conductors, Bros. L. Mackay and Were; R.S. to N.G., Bro. O’Hanlon; L.S. to N.G., Bro. Harrison; R.S. to V.G., Bro. F. Latham; L.S. to V.G., Bro. L. Gooch. The proceedings took the form of a social evening for the purpose of presenting the ritual cup, which was this year won by the lodge. The ceremony was performed by the district grand master, Bro. D. Sherson, who also presented to N.G. Sister Mackay a miniature cup from the members of her own lodge in recognition of her work during the year, and particularly for the ability she displayed in the ritual competition. Bro. Sherson also presented to P.G. Bro. Martin a jewel in recognition of his services. At a banquet a large number of visitors from Stratford and Midhirst lodges fraternised with Toko members.

The toast list was: Independent Order of Oddfellows Manchester Unity, P.G. Bro. J. Bums—D.G.M. Bro. Sherson; Toko Lodge, P.G. Bro. F. Mackay— P.D.G.M. Bro. M. Gernhoefer; winners of ritual competition, D.G.M. Bro. Sherson—N.G. Sister Mackay; Kindred Societies and Visitors, P.G. Bro. A. Gernhoefer—Bros. O. Platt, C. Phillips and E. Windmill, Messrs. T. T. Murray and A. S. Harper; Entertainers, P.G. Bro. Martin-Bro. H. Were; P.G. Bro. C. Vickers (chairman), Bro. J. Burn—Bro. Vickers. •

The toasts were interspersed with the following items: Songs, Mr. T. Bunbury; elocutionary items, Miss E. Longstaff; songs, Miss P. Mackay. A short dance was held, music being supplied by Messrs. Phillips and Harper and Mrs. Mayhead and Miss Bunbury. Mr. J. Martin was master of ceremonies. Girl Guide Concert. At a recent concert held by the girl guide committee one of the best items was “The Wedding of the Painted Doll,” which was splendidly presented and reflected great credit on those who were responsible for the training of the tiny tots. The solo was sung by Miss Bunbury and the other parts were- taken as follows: Red Riding Hood, Olive Platt; Buster Brown, L. Lind; Jumping Jack, Owen Fetch; Mama Doll, I. Platt; bridesmaids, M. Wilson, E. Capon, M. Burns, D. Gernhoefer; bride, Maisie Platt; preacher man, Earl Petch; bridegroom, Don Raynor; guests from far and near, N. Lind, J. Mackay, J. Capon, E. Milne, S. Milne, J. Gardner and F. Gardner.
