NO EXTENSIVE DAMAGE DONE.
CRACKS IN SEVERAL BUILDINGS.

The earth tremor which was felt in the metropolitan area about noon was also experienced along the coastal belt from Brisbane to Rockhampton. No extensive damage and no injuries are reported, but at Gayndah, in the Burnett district, a number of buildings cracked and the stock on the shelves of shops Was thrown to the floor. Alarmed residents at Kingaroy, where two distinct shocks were felt, rushed into the streets. The most severe tremor in the metropolitan area was at Cribb Island where homes were violently shaken and residents terrified.
