MR. D. JONES RESIGNS
MEAT BOARD CHAIRMANSHIP.
ELECTION OF MR. T. A. DUNCAN.
The resignation of Mr. D. Jones, chairman of the New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board, was received at a meeting of the board at Wellington. Mr. T. A. Duncan, Hunterville, who has acted as deputy-chairman, was elected chanman. Mr. Jones has been chairman of the board since its inception in 1922, except for one year, 1931-32. He was one of the delegates to the Ottawa Conference and he has acted in an advisory capacity m meat discussions at London. Recently he was appointed to the Executive Commission of Agriculture as one of the two representatives of the primary ir.dusties. Mr. Duncan has also been on the Meat Board since 1922, being elected a producers’ representative. Mr. Jones was a Government nominee, and it is expected that a new appointment will be made shortly.
