BOOMERANG CLUB MEETS '
EX-SERVICEMEN AT INGLEWOOD. The supper room of the Inglewood town hall was filled to. its capacity on Tuesday night, on the occasion of "the first meeting of the Boomerang (Returned Soldiers) Club for 1935. Owing to the unavoidable absence of' Digger S. Wanklyn,- president, the chair was taken by the secretary, Digger R, S. Keenan.' . ■ -A programme was presented to which the following contributed: Digger G. C. Tait (song), Digger I. Aitken (song), Dig- ’ ger F. Baird (song), Digger W. J. Smith (song), Digger W. Hirch (Song), Digger F. Partridge (recitations), Mr.' S. Basham (card tricks), Mr. R. Day (recitation). The accompaniments were played by Mrs. Faris. Major Merton, Palmerston North, gave an address on the problems of disarmament, detailing the difficulties of the present day before disarmament could be effected. The New Plymouth Returned Soldiers’ Association was largely represented. Supper was served by Mesdames. S. Wanklyn, S. Lovell, R. S. Keenan, W. Wearne, I. E...Faris, H. Winter and W. X Smith.
