COMING OF AGE PARTY.

A delightful party was given in the Oeo hall by Mr. and Mrs. C. Jones in honour of the coming of age of their daughter, Edna. Mrs. Jones, who wore a black gown, received her guests. She was assisted by Miss Edna, who chose red felt for her frock and carried a bouquet in colourings to match her frock, the gift of Mrs. Neil Smith. The attendance of some 115 guests showed the esteem in which Miss Jones is held in the district. Dancing was enjoyed by the younger members to music played by Mrs. Atrill, Eltham, with extras by Mrs. Whalen and Messrs. T. and K. Davies. A euchre tournament which was conducted by Mr. Roy Hughes and was won by Miss A. Forsythe, after a play-off with Mrs. F. Simpson, and Mr. F. Simpson. Songs were sung by Mr. Evans, Oeo, Mrs. Smith, Hawera, and Mr. Badland, Manaia. Mr. B. Henson played selections on the bagpipes. The supper tables were decorated with flowers of autumn tints. Relatives and friends of the family were present from Manaia, Hastings, Hawera, Pihama, Tahora and Taihape. The health of Miss Jones was proposed by Mr. W. Walker and that of her parents by Mr. ,F. Muggeridge. Mr. Badland was master of ceremonies. Amongst those present were: Mrs. and Miss Muggeridge, Mrs. and Miss Evans,. Mrs. G. G. Mitchell, Mrs. Whalen, Mrs. and the Misses Ehrhorn, Miss Glengarry, the Misses Forsythe, Miss Saywell, Mrs. arid the Misses Taylor, Mrs. Hayns, Mrs. Moyes, Mrs. Simpson, Mrs. Walker and the Misses Walker, the Misses Campbell, Mrs. Fraser, Mrs. and Miss Jenkins, Mrs. and Miss Stone, Mrs. Saywell, Mrs. Sprone, Mrs. Rowe, Mrs. Davies and Mrs. Colins (Hastings).
