TARANAKI COMPETITIONS. Awards of trophies in the seventh test of the Taranaki egg-laying competition are:— Duck or pullet, most eggs during test, D. M. Cannon (W.L.), 781 eggs; any other variety than White Leghorn pullet, Miss D. Swadling (M.), 202 eggs; heavy breed pullet, H. W. Smith (B.O.), 260 eggs; White Leghorn pullet, D. M. Peek (W.L.), 292 eggs; Minorca pullet, Miss D. Swadling (M.), 202 eggs; duck, most eggs during test, Thos. Dowthwaite (F. and W.R.), 273 eggs; light breed N.Z. utility exhibition standard pullet, Hall Bros. (W.L.I, 72 points; heavy breed N.Z. utility exhibition standard pullet, E. J. Poswillo (B.O.), 72J points; duck, N.Z. utility exhibition standard, Thos Dowthwaite (F.-and W.A.), 74 points; pullet with greatest weight of eggs, D. M. Peek (W.L.), 411 b 13oz 6sdr; duck with greatest weight of eggs, Thos. Dowthwaite (F. and W.R.); 421 b 15oz 6dr; light breed pullet laying, best marketable eggs, Mrs. R. R. Cannon, 1072 points; heavy breed pullet laying best marketable eggs, E. J. Poswillo, 101 J points; duck laying best marketable eggs, Thos. Dowthwaite (awarded on two judgings), 63$ points.
