Among the industries of Britain'which have shown a steady increase,- according to numbers employed, for the last 20 years are transport, vehicle building (including motor-cars), printing, food and electric apparatus. 'X \bow Hill” is the name which has been given to a kopje overlooking Ladysmith. Clay of various colours—red, pink, cream, green, brown and yellow—has been discovered on the hill, and this, when dried and powdered and mixed with water or oil, forms a good paint wash.
