CHILLED BEEF TRADE
NEW ZEALAND QUOTA LARGER. QUARTER ALLOCATION DOUBLED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, April 12. In a statement regarding chilled beef the Rt. 'Hon. J. G. Coates said that the Government had arranged that the export to the United Kingdom be nearly doubled. It had secured an allocation of 30,000 cwt for arrival in the April-June quarter. This was now increased to 56,000 cwt. This indicated that the British Government recognised the importance of chilled beef to New Zealand.
