HAROLD LOGAN LOOKING. BETTER. (By Telegraph—Special to News.) .. ... . . Wanganui, Last Night. As the outcome of Impromptu’s defeat of Harold Logan last. Saturday 3 keener interest is being displayed in the return match to-morrow, in which it is the' 'general opinion that the New Zealand champion- may retrieve his lost laurels; ’ " Both horses were worked separately today and, while they were not out for time, gave solid displays. Harold Logan, whose legs are still showing signs of his strenuous racing earlier in the season, has brightened up considerably and appears to have derived benefit, from the race. E. F. C. Hinds is well satisfied with the progress being made by his horse and confidently expects him to run a better race. Impromptu is fairly “jumping out of his skin” and has never looked in brighter racing condition. C. Moran, while recognising that he has a big task ahead of him to-morrow, saj« Impromptu will run the race of his life. He anticipates that his rival will beat his horse out at the start but thinks that Impromptu will probably in his present condition finish on stronger than his doughty rival. ' L. O. Thomas, who is driving Harold Logan, says his horse will do better. Heavy rain fell overnight and continued until noon to-day. It has now eased but the weather is still threatening. However, owing to the sandy formation, the course is not'likely to be affected and the going should be reasonably good.
