SILVER JUBILEE’S FORM
AN AUSTRALIAN OPINION. ,
The following comments by “Pilot” in the Sydney Referee seem to indicate that Silver Jubilee’s prospects in the Doncaster Handicap are not being very highly assessed in Australia:— Silver Jubilee is receiving mention for the Doncaster Handicap, but to succeed in that with 7.10 he will need to be better thah when racing at Auckland in January. Although he won the Newmarket Handicap, six furlongs, with 7.2, in brilliant fashion, he could subsequently ' only get fourth with 8.2 in the Goodwood Handicap, one mile, for which he was favourite. He- led into the straight with Golden Wings (9.13), but the latter outstayed him for third. It is certain that in New Zealand 'Silver Ring would have to give Golden Wings a few pounds, and it is probable that over there Silver Ring, with 9.8, is considered much better treated tn the Doncaster than Silver Jubilee with 7.10. The latter is getting only a pound more from Silver Ring than Golden Wings gave him. This is sound reasoning but there is no doubt that Silver Jubilee was not himself in the Goodwood Handicap.
