NEW CHAIRMAN

BANK OF NEW ZEALAND CHOICE.

DIVIDEND SAME AS LAST YEAR.

By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, April 11.

The directors of the Bank of New Zealand announce that, subject to audit, it will be recommended at the annual meeting of shareholders on June 14 that a final dividend at the rate of 5 per cent, will be paid to ordinary shareholders for the half-year, making the distribution the same as in the previous year.

In connection with the election of a chairman of the Bank of New Zealand to-day, a unanimous wish was expressed that Sir Robert Anderson should accept the position, but he explained that for health reasons he had decided some time ago to resign his position as a director. It was then resolved that Mr. William Watson be elected chairman for the ensuing year.
