ART UNION PROFITS
ALLOCATION OF FUNDS MADE.
ANNOUNCEMENT BY MINISTER.
By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Allocations of funds from art union No. •38 were announced this evening by Sir Alexander Young, Minister of Internal Affairs, who explained that the actual profits amounted to £6450. The difference betweep the sum of the profits and the aggregate distribution, £6500, was taken from the reserve fund.
Allocations to various purposes are as follows: Relief of distress, £5000; Auckland War Memorial Museum, £500; Wanganui men’s shelter for relief of distress, £100; Canterbury centre of the Red Cross for relief of distress among exservicemen and their dependants, £250; citizens’ day nursery, Wellington, £150; Waitangi National Trust Board, £5OO.
