LONDON DELEGATION
MR. P. VERSCHAFFELT TO GO.
ASSISTANT TO FINANCE MINISTER.

The Minister of Finance, the Rt. Hon.. J. G. Coates, announced, to-day that the Public Service Commissioner, Mr. P. Verschaffelt, would acompany him to London to act as his assistant during the meat negotiations. Mr. A. D. Thomson will act as Public Service Commissioner and. Mr. T. Mark as assistantcommissioner. In making the announcement Mr. Coates said there were many difficult problems to be faced, in Britain, and he was anxious that he should have the advantage of an assistant possessing a legal mind. Mr. Verschaffelt, in addition to being a barrister and solicitor, was a qualified accountant and in Mr. Coates’ opinion would be an acquisition to the delegation. Mr. Coates would also take his personal secretary, Miss H. D. Montague.
