HOCKEY CLUB EUCHRE PARTY. The first of a series of euchre parties for the Katua Men’s Hockey Club funds was held in the Auroa hall on Tuesday evening. There was an attendance of over 40. Mr. H. Hunia was master of ceremonies and Mr. Brian Davies, secretary. Prizes were won as follows:— Women, Mrs. Ruskin, Miss V. Ruskin and Mrs. Hunia tied for first, .Mrs. Ruskin winning; 'men, Mr. J. Symes 1, Mr. Jas. Stuart 2. The funeral of the late Mrs. Harrington, AurOa, was largely attended. The Rev. Father Breen conducted the service. Mrs. Harrington, who came from Victoria with her husband, was of a retiring disposition, and x was held in high esteem among her neighbours and friends. She is survived by her husband, two sons, Messrs. William and Harry, and two daughters, Misses Bessie and W., Taikatu Road. The funeral of the late Miss Eileen Ogle took place at Hawera on Wednesday and was well attended. Miss Ogle had lived her life at Auroa and was held in high esteem. The pall bearers were Messrs. Jas. Duff, Jas. Williamson, Jas. Skinner, Jas. McCarty, M. Langlands, and A. J. Mischefski. The Rev. Mr. Cottom, Manaia,' conducted the service. BOWLING AT AUROA. MATCH FOR HAWKEN STARS. A bowling match at Auroa between Auroa and Opunake for the Hawken stars on Tuesday resulted in a win for Auroa. Details are:— A. O. Guy, Sherrin, Carey, Kilpatrick 26 — McCrone. D.
