HUGE SURPLUS IN AUSTRALIA.

POSTAL REVENUE’S BIG INCREASE.

The annual report of the PostmasterGeneral’s Department discloses a surplus of £2,000,009 after charging interest on capital investments. The earning Of the department for the year were £13,232,932, compared with £12,621,265 in the previous year. Postal revenue was 4.56 per cent, higher but the telegraph branch showed a deficit of £lOl2, which was £60,576 less than the deficit in 1932-33. The telephone branch showed a surplus of £269,273.
