APPRECIATION OF SERVICES.

By.Telegraph—Press Association. . Wellington, Last Night. To mark appreciation, of technical service, the Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates entertained at lunch in Parliament House today 13 departmental officers who, as a special committee, took part with the Minister in devising the intricate legislation de’aling with farmers’ finance.

The guests were Messrs. Paul Verschaffelt (Public Service Commissioner), A. D. Park (Secretary Jo. the Treasury), B. C. Ashwin (second assistant secretary to the Treasury), G. E. Milldr (superintendent of the State Advances Department), W. Ball (solicitor to the State Ad-. . vances Department), E. O. Hales (Public Trustee), G. G. Rose (solicitor to. the Treasury), B. L. Dallard (Under-Secre-tary of Justice), Dr. W. B. Sutch (economist secretary),''' Profesor H. Belshaw (economist adviser), Messrs. J. R. Aicken (private secretary), J. Snell (controller of the mortgage division of the Public Trust) and J.,Christie (law draftsman). The Minister referred to the excellent work of the committee and paid special tribute to the services, of Mr. Christie in drafting the legislation dealing with vital financial problems affecting rural ■ industry.
