Wellington, Last Night.

The weather will be dull and misty with widespread, and in places, heavy rains, says the 4 p.m. forecast. Some flooding is probable in the Auckland province and also in the far south. There will be mild temperatures. An extensive and complex depression is moving on to New Zealand. There will be moderate to strong northeasterly to northerly winds rising to gale force at places. Seas in New Zealand waters will be high north of East Cape and becoming rough generally. In the eastern Tasman Sea there will be moderate to strong west to south-west winds in the northern portion with rather rough seas. There will be strong northerly winds to gales in the southern portion with rough to high seas.
