FAIR PRICES FOR SHEEP. (Special to Daily News.) Taumarunui, April 9. There was only a small yarding of sheep, cattle and pigs at to-day.s stock (sale. Sheep met a fair demand aH ruling rates, but vendors did not like accepting lower values. The sheep were of good quality, the majority of the wethers carrying, a good deal of condition. Two-tooth wethers were sold at 16s lid, 18s 3d and 21s Id and good fourtooth wethers up to 18s 2d. Fat ewes made up to 17s, good mouth ewes (running with Romney ram) 17s Id and best ewe lambs up to 14s 6d. A small yarding of 30 pigs did not attract much attention owing to the shortage of milk, weaners selling at from 2s 6d to 6s. Small store pigs made from 6s to 7s 6d. The. cattle, which were of poor quality, did not cause much competition and the majority of the entries were passed in. There was a fair attendance of farmers and outside buyers. The following were the prices:— Pigs: Weaners, 2s 6d, 3s 6d, 4s to 6s; small store pigs, 6s to 7s 6d; light porkers 16s.
