FIRST AEROPLANE TO LAND AT BARING HEAD.—An unusual visitor arrived at the new Baring Head lighthouse on Sunday morning, when Captain C. M. Duthie flew from Rongotai and landed on the broad hilltop to the north of the station grounds. He is the first person to have arrived at the Head by air. The machine is seen outside the palisades which surround the keepers’ dwellings, with the top of the new lighthouse, showing on the right. The head keeper, Mr. Wilson, is seen standing beside the machine.
