RACES AT MARTON
AN ATTRACTIVE PROGRAMME. The autumn meeting of the Marton Jockey Club will be held on Saturday, April 27, and an attractive programme of eight races has been drawn up by this progressive club. The principal race, the Aldworth Stakes, is worth £125 and will be run over one mile and a quarter. The trainer of the winner will receive a gold stop-watch. The principal sprint is. the Telegraph Handicap, of £lOO, six furlongs. Other events on the programme are the Trial Plate, of £7O, six furlongs; Open Hurdles, of £lOO, about a mile and a-half; Ladies’ Necklace (hack conditions), of £5O and a trophy valued at £l5, for gentlemen riders, minimum weight list, one mile and 137 yards; Crofton Hack Cup, of £l2O, minimum weight 7st 71b, one mile and 137 yards, including a silver cup valued at £2O; Farewell Hack, of £7O, five furlongs,. Nominations close with the secretary, Mr. Arthur Way, on Friday at 9 p.m. at''P.O. Box 3, Marton.
