TAHORA DEFEATS RAEKOHUA. ' A return tennis match between the Raekohua and Tahora schools was played on the Tahora club courts last Saturday. Tahora avenged its previous defeat by winning 11 sets, 80 games to 4 sets, 44 games. Details, Tahora names first, are:— Boys’ si’-igles: B. Cadman beat M. Hart 6—l, R. John beat P. Northcott 6—l, R. Selby beat S. Taylor 6—3, K. McCartie beat M. Moore 6—o. Girls’ singles: Millie Slade lost to Una Betts 2—6, Jean Grant beat Maggie Walsh 6—5, Mona Lowe lost to B. Savage 4—6. Boys’ doubles: Cadman and Selby beat
Hart and Northcott 6—l, Johns and McCartie beat Taylor and Moore 6—o.
Girls’ doubles: M. Slade and J. Grant beat A. Betts and M. Walsh 6-4, J. Grant and M. Lowe lost. to M. Northcott and B. Savage 4—6. Combined doubles: Cadman and Millie Slade beat Hart and Una Betts 6—2, Johns and Jean Grant beat Northcott and Molly Walsh 6—3, Selby and Mona Lowe lost to Taylor and Betty Savage 4—6, McCartie and Jean Grant beat Moore and Betty Savage 6—o. Dance and Euchre Party.
A dance and euchre tournament was held on behalf of the Labour Party at Tahora on Saturday night. Euchre prizes were won by Mrs. Lowe and Mr. T. Quinn.
