FAREWELL TO BOWLER.

PRESENTATION OF TROPHIES. The Rev. T. Skuse, Methodist Minister at Stratford, who will leave shortly to take charge of the St. Kilda circuit at Dunedin, was farewelled on Monday night by members of the Avon Bowling Club, of which he has been an active member and of which he is the B champion for the season. 'As B champion, Mr. Skuse received a mounted silver bowl and as a farewell gift from the club he was presented with a leather brief bag. Regret at the departure of Mr. Skuse was expressed by Mr. J. Weston, "who said he had many fine qualities as a man, a minister, a citizen and a bowler. The club would feel Mr. Skuse’s absence from its teams. It was fitting that he should have won a championship the year he was departing. Vocal items were given as follows:— Solos, Messrs. F. T. Hale, H. Lonsdale, J. Weston, H. Betts, T. Skuse; duets, Messrs. Weston and Lonsdale and Weston and Betts. A short community sing was also held. Mr. K. von Sturmer was accompanist. At the same time congratulations were extended to Mr. A. Dickinson’s team on having been runner-up at the jubilee tournament at New Plymouth.
