BAND CONTEST
NEW PLYMOUTH EXECUTIVE.
ORGANISATION PROCEEDING.
Plans of organisation for the Dominion band contest to be held at New Plymouth next year are advancing rapidly. A general executive comprising the chairmen of previously appointed subcommittees was set up at a meeting last night, and it was announced that advice had been received that the president and secretary of the New Zealand band contest committee would visit New Plymouth on April 23 to confer with the local executive.
The executive comprises the chairmen of the finance, transport, accommodation, halls and grounds, advertising, and music sub-committees, Messrs. P. E. Stainton, A. Dunkley, J. Quirk, C. Fookes, I. Griffiths and T. Sheat. The executive will meet on Thursday.
Those present at last night’s meeting were Messrs. F. Amoore (chairman), V. Garth, Hollows, R. Lowe, T. Shepherd, Dunkley, Quirk, Griffiths, Roberts, Stainton and F. S. Nicholson (acting secretary).
