The New. Plymouth branch of the New Zealand Labour Party is holding a bazaar and carnival to-day at 2 p.m. in the Workers’ Social 'Hall, New Plymouth. It will be officially opened tonight by the Mayor, Mr. E. R. C. Gilmour, and will be continued until Saturday. Numerous attractions have been provided, including community singing and vocal and instrumental items, also selections by a Maori band. On Thursday night preliminary pulls in a tug-of-war contest will be decided. On Friday evening there will be a baby show and Friday night will be Scotch night. With regard to the forthcoming visit of Elizabeth Arden’s personal representative, Miss Gwen Bett, at Scanlans Ltd. next week, it must be clearly understood that the half-hour consultations on care of the skin, etc., are absolutely free of charge. A fee is only charged when clients elect to take Home Treatment Lessons, or other treatments. Early booking is advised.* The Railway Department advertises in this issue particulars of train arrangements and issue of cheap excursion fares in connection with the forthcoming Easter holidays.*
