SHOOTING REVIVED

NEW PLYMOUTH GUN CLUB. RESULTS ’ OF WEEK-END SHOOT. . After - a period of inactivity ■ the New Plymouth Gun Club held .an opening shoot : during the week-end. • Mr. Samp-, son, Egmont Road, has permitted the trap to be erected on this property, and. it is hoped to , continue with monthly, shoots. . .. .. Four’ matches were . fired . and .. the shooting, was of a high. standard. Visiting shooters ■ were Dr.. Brown (New Plymouth), Messrs. W. O’Brien (Hawera), G. Carter, J.. Petrie (Stratford), R. Davies, G. Armstrong (Alton) and A. Hammond (Mangatoki). Afternoon . tea was provided by Mrs. : Winiki. ' The following are the results- of the matches:— Six Bird Match:'J. Winiki (18yds) 6, G. Taylor (14yds) .4, G. Armstrong -(15 yds) 5, L. Knuckey (14yds) 5, G. Jago (12yds) 4, G. Carter (17yds)'4, R. . Davies (18yds) 6, C. Baker (12yds) 6, W. O’Brien (18yds) 6, J. Power (14yds) 5, A. Parti (14yds) 5, J. Petrie (16yds) 4. Winiki, Davies, Baker and O’Brien shot the possible and divided the sweep. Twelve Bird Match: J. Winiki (18yds) 11, G. Taylor (14yds). 9, G. Armstrong (15yds) 11, L’ Knuckey (14yds) 12, G. Jago (12yds) 10, G. Carter (17yds) 10, A. Hammond (12yds) 10, R. Davies (18yds)' 11, 'C; Baker (12yds) 8, W. O’Brien (18 yds) -12, J. Winiki shot/the possible and-Petrie, O’Brien and Carter divided second money. The final match, a first miss but, saw good shooting between A. Parli and J.
