SILVER RING IMPROVES

The New Zealander Silver Ring has already shown a considerable improvement in condition since landing.. Expert veterinary opinion is that there is nothing serious about his leg injuries which are mostly confined to the loss of skin. He has been treated and! is expected to be ready to resume training after a couple of days’ rest. In view of his forward condition the interruption in his training is not likely to prevent his starting in the Doncaster Handicap. Gold Trail has developed slight kidney trouble, probably caused by' travelling from Melbourne. She has been given a dose of physic and her trainer, Cameron, does not anticipate that her Randwick chances will be affected.. As a result of a bad attack of colic Sir Nigel has no chance of competing in the Randwick events.

K. Voitre, ex-New Zealand jockey, has been engaged to ride Hall Mark at Randwick in the weight-fpr-age events. Training this morning at Randwick on a grass track -Legatee ran half - a mile in 5i% with the South Australian horse, Beamish Boy.

Visage and Homer ran five furlongs in 1.514.

Sir John and After Money ran six furlongs in 1.16 3-5. \ At Victoria Park the Victorian two-year-old Young Idea ran a remarkable half-mile in 48s on the outside of the course. ■ — ■ ■
