GOODWIN CUP PRESENTED
SUCCESS OF MEREMERE CLUB.
The Goodwin Cup, competed for among cricket teams in the Mokoia district was won last season by Meremere. At the club’s annual ball recently the cup was presented to the club captain, Mr. W.' J. Geary, by Mr. J. Archer in the absence of Mr. Goodwin.
Responding, Mr. Geary said that although the team had won all 12 games in the competition, it had not had everything its own way. On some occasions the matches were not decided until the last over of the day.
