Bryant, E. Ferguson, R. Ranstead, J. Butler) beating Matangi C (E. Brown, J. R. Ranstead, L. Chitty, W. Phillips) 9—4. Play was even in the first half, which ended with the score three-all. In the second spell the B team rattled on six goals, the C team adding one. For the • winning team Ferguson (4), Ranstead (2), Butler and Bryant scored goals. Chitty (2), Ranstead and Phillips scored for the losing team. In the final for the Savile Cup Matangi (G. M. Ranstead, G. Peake, R. Townsend, G. V. Chitty) beat Cambridge (R. Nolan, G. Vosper, K. Peake, H. Peake) 12-2. ' ■; , . . -- This was an exciting but one-sided game. The more experienced Matangi side secured the advantage from the . start Cambridge lost few opportunities, hitting well, but the opponents showed better combination. Ranstead played a fine game to score six goals. Townsend scored four, and Peake two. K. Peake hit both the Cambridge goals.
