FARMERS’ UNION REQUEST. A decision to ask the Dominion executive of the Farmers’ Union to approach the New Zealand Newspaper Proprietors’ Association seeking* a reduction in the price of newspapers to one penny was reached by the Midhirst branch at its meeting on Friday night Failing compliance by the association, the branch considered the Government should be requested to place a duty on imported newsprint.
