It is understood Dr. Walsh is at present on a visit home. . , The discovery, the result of six years investigation, concerns an emulsified olive oil, injections of -which apparently have the power to absorb and render harmless toxins produced in the blood in acute bacterial diseases. It is stated the doctors have been able in 20 cases of lobar pneumonia to shorten the duration of the hospital treatment by nearly half, and reduce the period of convalescence even more. Encouraging results are also obtained in cases of rheumatic fever, erysipelas and septicaemia.
