The University of New Zealand announces the following results of the LL.M, examinations in November, 1934:— Auckland University College: Marion Van B. Hollway, pass, Victoria University College: W. R. Birks, pass; I. D. Campbell, second class;. J. L. Charters, second class; R. L. Pettit, pass; H. Rosen, first class; F. Shanahan, pass; A. G. Wicks, pass; C. Wild, second class. Canterbury University College: E. J. P. Corcoran, equivalent first class; S. R. Dacre, pass; A. N. Mackay, pass; J. G. D. Ward, pass. , DEGREES CONFERRED. < SPECIAL PRIZE AWARDS. Wellington, Last Night The following degrees were conrerred by the University of New Zealand today:— Doctor of Literature: Basil Hillyer Howard, Otago. Master of Arts: First class in English, James Munro Bertram, Auckland. Bachelor of Arts; Gwenda Josephine Norman-Jones, Victoria. Bachelor of Commerce: Raymond Frank Galyer, Victoria; Thomas Richard Smith, Canterbury. Bachelor of Engineering: William Mowbray Eastgate Mirams (electricity and civil), Canterbury. Bachelor o£ Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery: David Athol Arnott, Douglas William Guthrie, William Hawksworth, Marion Kerr Steven, Otago. The following have been nominated to the shipping companies for university free passages: J. P. Belshaw (Auckland), J. W. Mitchell (Canterbury) D. W. McElwain (Victoria), G. A. H. Helson (Canterbury). i The following special prizes were, awarded: Sir Julius Von Haast prize in geology: C. O. Hutton (Otago); Cook Memorial (for mathematics), H. W. Wilson (Otago); Sir James Wilson prize in agriculture, W. M. Hamilton (Massey College); Schlich Memorial prize in forestry, J. F. Lysaght (Canterbury); Macmillan Brown agriculture research scholarship, P. R. McMahon (Massey College).
