URUTI DISTRICT NEWS
BASKETBALL DANCE HELD. An enjoyable dance was held in the Uruti hall on Monday night •in aid of the basketball club. The hall was decorated with greenery. The music was supplied by Mr. N. Edwin. A competition was won by Mr. C. Symons. Monte-carlo dances were won by Miss R. Musker and partner and Miss K. Brunsden and Mr. • Allen Rea, and • a lucky spot dance was won by Miss H. Phillips and Mr. P. Russell. The basketball funds will be considerably augmented. Mr. and Mrs. J. Old, Hamilton, visited Mr. and Mrs. P. Thomson and are now visiting Wellington and Bay. Miss B. Tonkin has returned after spending a few days with Mrs. D. S. Musker. Mrs. Henry has returned to Mokoia after spending several days with friends in the district. Mrs. G. . Reid has returned from Wellington. Mr. and Mrs. V. Larsen have returned from a trip to Hawke. Bay.
