CONJURING MADE EASY.
Magic Confetti. , Sprinkle a handful of confetti on the underside of a cardboard picnic plate. Tracing some words in the air with your finger, toss up the confetti in a shower, plunge the plate into the falling pieces, and the word Magic will appear written in confetti on the plate. The Secret. Take two picnic plates, both alike. On one paint the word with gum and stick confetti to the gum letters. Cut the centre neatly from the other plate and paste a disc of newspaper on the back of the cut out part. When this loose centre is placed on the prepared plate, the plate will appear to be empty. Lay it upside down on a sheet of newspaper while you pour confetti on the upturned plate. All you have to do then is to pick up the plate, throw the confetti into the air, and plunge the plate into it, turning its face towards the audience as you do so. The newspapered back of the loose centre renders it invisible where you have left it. Burnt Paper Restored. To restore a piece of paper after it has been burnt to ashes, you need a . second piece to match the first. Fold this duplicate piece, push th drawer of a box of matches partly out and conceal the the folded paper in the space thus made In the outer case. After lighting the visible paper and while everyone is watching it burn, close the match box and the duplicr' paper will be pressed into your hand. Toss the matches aside and, as the paper burns away, scatter the ashes and open out the concealed paper. Burned Paper Changed to Ribbon. This is precisely the same trick as that ■which I have described but instead of a second sheet of paper you have a folded length of ribbon hidden in the matchbox.
