THE WENDY HUT.
OUR GREAT PAINTING AND “FIND THE NAMES’’ COMPETITION. PRIZES FOR BOYS AND GIRLS WHO MOST ARTISTICALLY PAINT THE PICTURE OF “THE OLD WOMAN WHO' LIVED IN A SHOE,” WHICH IS PRINTED BELOW. Children over nine years of age must also fill in the names of six of the children—one letter is omitted, you will notice, from each of the names printed above and below the picture itself. The first name is, of course, “Kate,” but the others are not quite so easy, because there are alternatives. See what you can do. We have the correct names here, and will check yours by our own list. . . . Children under nine years of age need not fill in the names unless they like. The way they paint the picturp will decide us in awarding the prizes. . The most important thing is to colour the picture neatly and daintily. But, to qualify for a prize, the children over nine years of age must also complete the names, as I have already stated. Do the very best you can. RULES. 1. Your entry must be sent in by April 12, 1935, addressed to Wendy, c/o The Editor, Daily News, N.P. 2., Your name, address and age must be clearly stated on the ' entry. 3.
