MATCH WITH CLIFTON PARK. A women’s team representing the Huirangi Tennis Club played a return match with the women members of the Clifton Park Club, which won by 11 sets (83 games) to four sets (59 games). Old Time and Modern Dance. Because of counter-attractions there was not a large attendance at the old time and modern dance held by the Brixton community picnic comnjittee’ on Thursday evening. Seven tables were occupied for euchre, Messrs. E. Andrews and W. McCaul being' in charge. The prizes were won by Mrs. Higgins (14 games) and Mrs. McCaul (nine games) and Mr. 0. Fulton (12J games) and Mr. H. Furze (12 games). Dance music was played by Messrs. Rowe and Watson. Mr. A. Aitken was master of ceremonies. Monte Carlo waltzes were won by Miss M. Tate and Mr. H. Rosewarne and Miss L. Wells and Mr. A. Staddon. Replacement of Fences.

The Huirangi branch of the Farmers’ Union held a working bee on Mr. C. Allen’s farm on Monday, when about 30 men helped to replace fences washed away in the recent flood. Luncheon and afternoon tea were arranged for by members of the Women’s Division. On

Monday a working bee is to be held on Mr. A. Johnston’s farm. Basketball and Football. There is a movement to arouse the interest of the younger people of the district in basketball and football and it is hoped that there will be a good response to a suggestion to form clubs.Meetings are to be held next week.
