Westminster is the convivial centred? London. It has more public-houses (368) than any other borough in the county—and more than one-third of all the licensed hotels and restaurants in • the metropolis are within its borders. At the other end of the scale, Lewisham has only one public-house for every 2244 of its inhabitants, and'there are six boroughs without a single licensed hotel, The grand total of public-houses in London is 4979.
