LIMIT ON CHILLED BEEF
EXPORTERS’ HEAVY LOSS By Telegraph—Press Association. Rec. 10.40 p.m. Canberra, March 21. The acting-Prime Minister, Dr. Earle Page, answering a question in the House of Representatives to-day, said the British Government had imposed a limit on the proportion of chilled beef being shipped from Australia with the result that some carcases which would have been shipped as chilled would have to be exported as frozen. He regretted to say great losses would be sustained by exporters in Australia if the British Government adhered to its decision. He expected Mr. Lyons, who would arrive at London that day, would immediately take the matter up with the British authorities.
