KAIMIRO TENNIS CLUB
GENERAL NEWS OF DISTRICT. The recently formed Kaimiro Tennis Club has been very active in the past fortnight in improving the site in front of the school. The work was completed last Saturday and the opening took place oh Sunday. The president of the club, Mr. H. C. Read, said it was a matter of very great credit to the district that a Court was formed at such short notice. The present whole-hearted support augured well for the future. The rest ot the afternoon Was devoted to games and instruction of beginners. Afternoon teh Was Served by a committe of women members. A WOfkifig-bee organised by the school committee made many improvements to the school grounds on Friday. The committee has a fairly extensive programme in hand ahd intends to hold further work days at the end of the season. At the final meeting of the sports committee on Monday night the chairman, Mr. N. GibsOn, congratulated the coinmittee for its loyal ahd enthusiastic support, which made the picnic such a success. Votes of thanks, were passed to many who assisted. The expenditure of the funds in hand on sports material for the children was left in the hands of a representative sub-committee. The year's activities were concluded with sttppCr served in the school residence.
