SCHOOL SWIMMING

STRATFORD SPORTS HELD.

LARGE ENTRIES AND GOOD RACES. A splendid array of young swimmers was seen at the baths at Stratford yesterday afternoon when the annual swimming sports of the Stratford primary school were held. A large percentage of the children took part, every class being represented, and no lack of proficiency was shown. A particularly important and interesting feature was the primers’ race, when about eight or nine boys and girls of very tender years successfully crossed the baths at the shallow end. The senior hoys’ championship was won by J. Ritter, who scored nine points, and he was closely followed by A. Vallis (7pts) and B. Kelly (5). The girls’ championship was won by Olive Kermode, who had a big lead in points at the end of the day.
