JUBILEE SERVICE
THANKSGIVING FOR KING. PRIVY COUNCIL APPROVES ORDER. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Rec. 8.30 p.m. London, March 6. The Privy Council has decided that the King’s jubilee thanksgiving service on May 6 will open with the first verse of the National Anther.i, followed by the hymn “All People That on Earth do Dwell.’’ Then will come Psalms 95 and 121, and the lessons, Joshua 1: 7, 8 and 9, and Revelations 21: 10, 11, 23 and 24, followed by a short address. Other hymns of thanksgiving will follow and four prayers, some from His Majesty’s accession service, including one appealing for true fellowship and brotherly concord in the King’s Dominions in all parts of the earth. Finally there will be the Te Deum and the first and third verses of the National Anthem. The Times in a leading article praises the new thanksgiving collects written for the jubilee service. It says they are fully worthy to stand by the old prayers. Moreover they mark a valuable step towards Christian unity as the Free Churches are adopting them for their own services.
