MAGISTRATE’S QUERY
LICENSEE’S TWO CONVICTIONS. POLICE ACTION TO BE TAKEN. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, March 6. At the quarterly meeting of the Auckland Licensing Committee to-day the chairman, Mr. Wyvern Wilson, S.M., said he noticed that one licensee had had two convictions in six months but no step had yet been taken by the police to have his license forfeited. "The correct procedure is for the police to call upon him to show cause why his license should not be forfeited. Are such steps being taken?” asked Mr. Wilson. Sub-Inspector Scott: "Yes, at the annual meeting in June.” Mr. Wilson: "Proceedings will be taken?” Sub-Inspector Scott: "Yes, sir.” Mr. Wilson: "Very well.”
